The first edition of the Andorra Laser Clinic we organized last year, managed by Toni Rivas, was a great success. The participant's comments, sailors and coaches alike, were very positive. If it were not enough that everybody was happy with their stay among us, we are proud to comment that one of the participants scored third at the 2010 Laser 4.7 World Championship held in Pattaya, Thailand, at the beginning of April.
In 2010 we are organizing again a Clinic with the same format, at the same venue and with the same management, with an added interest: following the Clinic the Spanish National Laser 4.7 Championship will take place at the same venue.
Optimist, Europe, 470 (currently), Laser, 49er, Tornado and cruiser (currently) sailor; Spanish pre-Olympic teammate in 49er and Tornado classes; 14 times Spanish national champion and 9 times Spanish Cup holder; honour places in European and World championships and in the Eurolymp circuit.
Yngling Spanish Olympic team coach; coach of Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Brazil national teams; coach in Optimist, Europe, Laser, 470, Yngling and Hobie Cat classes; technical manager at Club Nàutic Garraf (Spain) and technical staff at the Catalan Sailing Federation.
In addition to Toni, who has been following a long sailing career at the highest competitive level and accumulates a huge experience in coaching of sailing teams at international and Olympic level, other specialized coaches such as Jordi Lamarca (ESP – Rules and weather) will take part in coaching. Jordi was part of the Spanish Challenge to the America's Cup.
Coaching will be imparted in english and spanish, it will use competitive and compelling formats, and it will include physical training, theory (tactics, rules, weather, trim…), and technical coaching including match-racing and team-racing.
The Clinic's management will provide hotel accommodation (double or triple rooms), meals (breakfast, picnic and dinner), and coaching on land and on water.
In addition to being a very dynamic sailing and nautical activities base, GEN Roses organized with deserved success the 2007 World Laser Masters Championship where 419 sailors participated, and is being tipped for the 2012 World Laser Masters Championship. The Spanish National Laser 4.7 Championship will start there on the weekend after the Clinic.
